Video: A Slalom in SM Sucat

Screengrab from original video posted by KLRTravel

Slalom. Just what kind of motorsport is it?

We tried to put it into words when we wrote how Project Elantra fared at a previous slalom event. But some people prefer an audiovisual explanation of certain things. That’s why Youtube exists to give space for all sorts of how-to’s and what-is’s.

So to define what slalom is like to watch live, the denizens of Youtube have once again come through. We just came across this video taken by Youtube user  KLRTravel of the 11th leg of the National Slalom Series, held last November 20, 2011 at SM City Sucat. It is mostly shots of several Toyota Starlets and the odd Ford Escort doing what RWDs know best – to skid, or what the young’uns call drifting nowadays. Still fun to peruse though.

Sadly there is no shot of a bone stock Elantra trying to get out of its own way. You can’t get everything in life.

Read on for the video after the jump.
