V8 Supercars to visit PH in 2013

Crikey, mate!

If just a moment ago, you heard a distant roar of eight cylinders revving the heck out of their pushrods, don’t worry. You’re not hearing things. Because in 2013, the same engines would be battling in Ford Falcons and Holden Commodores in a V8 Supercars race near you. Live, in the flesh, in the Philippines!

The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), amid criticism hurled against it for not supporting the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation team that won an international event in Florida, has made an agreement with V8 Supercars Australia Pty. Ltd. and Toleman Motorsport Management to assist with any government requirements needed to facilitate the smooth running of the event. The Philippine stop of the international touring car championship will be held in Clark International Speedway sometime in 2013.

The hosting of a V8 Supercars round is seen to be beneficial to business and tourism, as well as fostering the development of local motorsports talent. We hope that this landmark event pushes through. So, to the PSC and V8 Supercars management, make our Pinoy ears bleed with the banshee wail of these American-derived race engines!
